Review of Polar Smartwatch M600

There are two types of smartwatch clock: those that are designed for general use, and the other designed for sportsmen. This falls in the second category, and so far is regarded as one of the best smart watches, the Polar M600.

This Polar smartwatch clock received good reviews by users and sportsmen, who were fascinated with your income. So, in NewEsc, we decided to give it a try and do our review. The experience for two weeks and this is our verdict.

A little big, but very comfortable

We want our smart clock works very well and has a decent battery. However, we don’t like to give up a beautiful design, since it is a wearable always visible. The Polar M600 is very beautiful, but has a problem: your size.

For us, it’s a watch too big and that calls a lot of attention. Maybe the more white than black, but to be so great, calls always attention. Still, it’s a watch with an interesting design and with two aspects that we want to highlight: the strap and the aluminum side of the screen edges.

It is true that the watch weighs a little (63 g) and is large (45 x 36 x 13), but even so, thanks to your silicone strap is very comfortable. This belt is removable, so you can buy other compatible and go changing. At the moment there are only two, the black and the white. It is possible that over time, Polar and other companies begin to create belts with more colors.

To the side of the screen we see a few aluminum side protections. In addition to being a plus, calls a lot of attention. It’s a small detail, and that maybe you didn’t see it, but I’m sure others did.

In addition to the belt and the touchscreen, this device has a side button that allows you to be awake movie mode and how to return to the main menu at any time. It’s kind of like a “Home” button. There are also other central button, with which we can access directly to the Polar Flow app and quickly get our exercise.

Useful screen, but could be better

In smart watches, the screen has a very important role. The Polar screen M600 is 1.3 “, has a resolution of 240 x 240 pixels and is protected by Gorilla Glass. Responds very well to the touch and the Sun to see if without problems.

However, in some cases the colors are a little off and sometimes we see some lines on the screen. Does not have the best Panel, and is not equal to the Samsung S2 Gear, for example.

By default, the screen is always lit showing the time, and when they turn the pulse increases the brightness so that they can see better. Also you can change this option so that it is always deleted and only lights up when you want, thus saving more battery. During the night, if too much trouble, can activate the cinema mode, which clears the screen until they touch the side button.

Good income, no lags

The yield of this GPS smartwatch must parse into two strands: running applications and analyzing our data with its sensors.

This smartwatch clock has a MediaTek MT2601 processor, which is the most powerful there is, but it’s very balanced. Is able to perform all the Android apps Wear fluidly, so why should not worry. In addition to the processor, this Smart Watch has 4 GB of internal storage and 512 of RAM yet.

On the other hand, there is a very important aspect, and for us it’s more important in sports watches: the sensors. We started with the heart rate sensor, which is composed of 6 LED. It’s a good sensor and very effective, indicates the test results quickly. However, it doesn’t work the same way in all activities.

For example, to walk or run indicates heart rate properly. However, when doing strength exercises, like lifting weights, the results are not as accurate. For cycling is also not recommended, as it has no dedicated sensors to the sport as the Polar V800.

Another very important aspect and that all Runners will love, is your GPS. Yes, because the M600 has a built-in GPS and works regardless of whether they have or not your Android. When you start an activity in which can activate the GPS, the Polar writes the ruta to then can see on Polar app Beat. The result is very detailed and with good accuracy.

An important note: the device senses when they start exercising. So, each time you want to record your respondent or exercise, should open the app from Flow and determine the exercise that will perform.

Battery for 2 days

While having integrated GPS and a color screen, thought the battery this smartwatch clock last bit, but its 500 mAh are very efficient.

For a normal use, doing exercise and receiving notifications with Android, will last 2 days no problems. Using iOS will last 1 day and a half, or maybe less. But as we said earlier, can increase this duration by reducing the brightness, unplugging the Wi-Fi, not using the sensors or GPS, etc.

To your battery lasts much, but your shipment is even better. In 1 hour you can have it loaded to 100%, which is awesome.

Android Wear and Polar Flow

There is one thing that must be taken into consideration, and that is that If you have an iOS device, should not buy this Smarwatch. The Polar M600 incorporates Android Wear, and to get you the best performance, you need an Android.

During these days we have experienced both operating systems, and with iOS is horrible. Synchronization failures, we received no notifications, the battery lasted for less … The worst is that we could install other app in the M600. In the end, iOS and Polar don’t seem to be good friends. But with Android the story is different.

In this we have Android M600 Polar Wear 1.5 and possibly be updated to Android Wear in 2017. Is a device that works wonder with an Android: Instant notifications, sync with automatic apps, etc. However, what more we want to highlight of your firmware is the Polar Flow app.

Flow and Polar Polar Beat are two apps that must be installed on your smartphone to be able to synchronize your phone for the first time with the watch, but also to analyze all the data that the clock Guard off the day. the app Flow is more Polar General, while Polar Beat is unique for the exercises. When the central button of the watch, this enters the app of Flow and synchronizes the data with these two apps on the phone.

Is a good buy?

If what you want is a sport that can synchronize with smartwatch clock your Android, it has GPS, which is waterproof and can monitor your races, so this is a good option. But if you have a small, maybe the Polar M600 is not the best option. However, remember that can be great, but it’s very comfortable and your battery fairly hard.

Amazon 344 €

It’s not the best option for those who make sport of strength, since to get optimal results you need to buy the band H7 HR it costs 70 €. Also, If you don’t have an Android, you’d better not buy it.

We hope you have enjoyed our review of the Polar M600. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to leave it in the comments.
