What has been happening a long time ago as a message is now reality: US-American electronics company HP has launched new hybrid smartwatches in cooperation with renowned labels. This is the German modemarke Hugo Boss and the Italian coach Ferrari. The models, which appear at first sight as analogue watches, have a noble design and have all the important smart functions on board. The Hugo Boss Classic Smartwatch costs around 400 euros, while the Scuderia Ferrari Ultraveloce Smartwatch with 325 euros a little more favorable. The two newcomers on the Wearable market are now available.
The Hugo Boss Classic Smartwatch has given HP two different designs. A slightly sportier version is characterized by a stainless steel case and a black leather strap. The second version comes with a rose gold case and a brown leather bracelet.
Although it does not work like this, they still have a digital OLED display, which is incorporated in the dial, where not only the time but also the incoming information of the paired smartphone are displayed. Speaking of smartphone, HP does not make any compromises and has made the Hugo Boss Classic Smartwatch with iOS and Android equally well understood.
Finally, the smart timepiece also offers the usual fitness functions. The rechargeable battery has a running time of five days, until it is recharged – but it is only intended for the tasks in connection with the smartphone. With regard to the operation of the mechanical clockwork, HP relies on a button cell with a lifetime of around two years.
The Scuderia Ferrari Ultraveloce Smartwatch is less discreet. It should appeal to the lovers of the Italian sports car builder. The mixture of red and black makes for a distinctive look, which is strengthened by the Ferrari logo at the twelve o’clock position. The Ferrari Smartwatch does not differ from the first two models for which HP has also laid the technical foundations.
The three Smartwatches are now available for purchase. After HP had already designed an intelligent clock with Movado in the past, more will follow in the future.
