HP and Movado Announce Smart Analog Clocks for the End of October

The American company HP, mainly known for the production of printers and PCs, has cooperated with the watchmaker Movado for a new series of smart analogue clocks. Now there is news: The waterproof watches will have a traditional design as well as a noble steel case. In addition, it will give them in different styles. The watches are marketed together with the names Coach, Hugo Boss, Ferrari, Tommy Hilfiger and Juicy Couture.

The smart features include OLED displays, while the Juicy Couture watch is only equipped with notification LEDs. A vibration function should also be integrated. The new models should be able to inform the carrier of incoming calls and messages, but also e-mails or calendar reminders. At the same time, the daily activity can be tracked – the functions are available to both Android and iOS users.

In the case of power supply, the manufacturers rely, on the one hand, on the batteries used for smartwatches, but also on conventional button batteries. The analogue movements are made possible by means of the battery. As with a classic watch, it is to be expected that the duration of the battery is extremely long (a multi-year running time is not a rarity here). The current for the Smartwatch technology in the watch is provided by a battery, which according to HP has a running time of five to seven days.

The price of smart analog clocks is between 195 and 325 dollars. From October 27, they will be available in the US on HP.com, Macy’s or Nordstorm. When exactly the watches will also be available in Europe, is not yet clear. Also at a possible price there is no information.
